What are the technical processes of activated carbon regeneration?

The main technical processes in the activated carbon regeneration market include internal heating converters, external heating converters, steam analysis, multi-hearth furnaces and traditional tunnel kiln processes. Various processes have their different technical characteristics, among which:
1. Tunnel kiln: similar to the traditional earthen kiln, the kiln body is long and occupies a large area, and the process is an obsolete process;
2. Multi-hearth furnace: multi-hearth furnace is suitable for customers who consume a large amount of single activated carbon, and the risk of complex waste sources is high;
3. Steam analysis: use medium and low temperature steam for desorption and regeneration, which is suitable for recovery and desorption of low boiling point solvents;
4. External heating converter: the external heating temperature is well controlled, and the furnace temperature cannot exceed 700 degrees, otherwise the furnace body will be easily damaged. It is suitable for the regeneration of granular activated carbon for medium and low boiling point exhaust gas;
5. Internal heating type converter: It is suitable for activated carbon of different process links and different material sources, and granular carbon, powdered carbon, and honeycomb carbon can all be regenerated, and the temperature can be activated from low temperature to a maximum temperature above 850 degrees. The regenerated activated carbon is of the highest quality.
The regeneration principle of the internal heating converter is as follows:
The first step is to desorb the moisture and low-boiling point organic matter adsorbed in the pore structure of activated carbon below 350°C;
In the second step, under the condition of 350-800°C, it enters the carbonization stage, and the macromolecular high-boiling organic matter is desorbed from the pore structure of the activated carbon, and undergoes a thermal decomposition reaction to form a low-molecular organic matter. At this time, the recovery rate of the pore structure of the activated carbon reaches 60~80%, the remaining organic matter forms carbon deposits in the pore structure and remains in the pore structure;
The third step is above 800°C. Under high temperature conditions, the carbon deposits in the pore structure of the activated carbon react with water vapor to generate CO and H2, which restores the pore structure of the activated carbon. After regeneration, it can be restored to 95% or even 100% of the original carbon. % of adsorption performance.
